True Grit and the Positivity of Faith

Most contemporary accounts of the nature faith explicitly defend what we call ‘the positivity theory faith’ – that must be accompanied by a favourable evaluative belief, or desire towards object faith. This paper examines different varieties and arguments used to support it. Whilst initially plausible, find faces numerous problematic counterexamples, show weaker versions are ultimately implausible. We discuss distinct property ‘true grit’, such requires one resilient toward evidential, practical, psychological challenges it faces. how true grit is necessary for faith, provides simpler less explanation evidence theory.
